I am usually able to arrange initial appointments within one week. I offer appointments Wednesday through Saturday at the King Edward/Oak St. office. My last appointment on weekdays starts at 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 4:45 p.m.
When people telephone to enquire about an appointment, I like to have a brief discussion in which I answer their questions and decide if I have the expertise to assist them. If I don’t think I’m able to be of help, I try to suggest alternatives.
People typically see me once per week in the early stages of counselling, with sessions being staggered further apart as people feel more confident about their progress. Most engage in brief counselling lasting from four to fifteen sessions. People with more long- standing difficulties or who want to pursue deeper change may require over a year of counselling.
Appointments can be made by referral (family physician), or by contacting me directly at (604) 873-0222 and leaving a message if I am unavailable. If people need to cancel appointments, I appreciate being given as much advance notice as possible. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy: with a minimum of 24 hours notice of cancellation, there is no fee; with less than 24 hours notice, half the full fee is charged.
